29 May What Design Can Do
What Design Can Do is an international platform that uses design thinking to address the important societal issues of our times. Every year since 2011, top creatives gather for WDCD in Amsterdam to share their expertise and perspectives, and also to brainstorm together about pressing issues we are facing everyday. They deal with a wide range of topics including (but not limited to) urbanism, globalized culture, and the role of design in a modern society. This year’s iteration, WDCD 2016 takes place on the 30th and 1st of June and July respectively, in the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ music hall. Focusing on Africa’s rise to cultural prominence, the connection between music and design and design-led solutions to problems posed by the refugee crisis, the 2016 WDCD is sure to be as inspiring as ever.
